Today we're going to learn a little background information about the Holocaust. We're doing this in preparation for our next book, Elie Weisel's Night. In order to prepare ourselves for this unit of study, we're going to:
-Read a children's book entitled Rose Blanche
-Complete a listening quide over this book
-Take notes over Weisel's life
-Complete a prereading Ture/False quiz over the Holocaust
-Read to page 6 in Night
Next class we will continue reading the book. I warn you all that it is an emotional, grapic, REAL novel about the Holocaust. We'll have to have many discussions about the reality of Weisel's Holocaust experience.
