Over the weekend, it became known to the media and the public that Vice Presidential nominee Sara Palin's daughter, Bristol, is five months pregnant. Our first Opinion Piece of the year will be centered around this issue. Do you believe that politicians families should be focused on in the media or do you believe, as Barak Obama says, that they're "off limits"?
Also, we took notes about effective writing strategies for developing persuasive Opinion Pieces. The ones we brainstormed are:
-Using paragraphs, especially the three paragraph structure
-No "puke" words
-Use personal examples
-Rephrase the question to start
-Use punctuation
-Don't offend the reader
-Make sure to summarize in your conclusion
-Make sure to stick to the subject
