For this half day, I figured that we could use a fun, simple poetic form to help express the more complex emotions of gratitude and appreciation that we feel toward the anonymous donors from Donors Choose who've provided our classroom set of Catching Fire. Acrostic poems are cool because they are interesting in both a visual and a linguistic sense. So, you each wrote one color-filled one for our donors and you wrote one about your favorite character from the Hunger Games.
Our donors need a thank-you poem that is hard-copy, but I needed your Hunger Games character poem to help start this year's blogging. So, after you'd written your thank-you poem to our generous donors, you all went to your blogs and got started.
