Today is a half day. Some of you are excited about this fact, but I wish we had lots more time together! But, since we don't, I thought that we would use our time to start our preparations for Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, which is next Monday.
Today, you're going to read through some poetry that relates to the Civil Rights movement. I found a site that has a collection of amazing Civil Rights poems. You're going to:
-Read through some of the poems
-Choose one you like
-Select a line or two that can stand on their own
-Email me your line(s) and the author
-Explain in the email why you chose those lines
