I had two goals for us in today's class. One was accomplished, the other was not. Here were my two goals:
-Read to page 200 in Catching Fire
-Plan for the Oh, The Places You'll Go Scholarship Essay
Can you guess which one took precedent? I understand that the sequel to the Hunger Games is amazing and I'm just as excited as you are to be reading it, BUT we do need to get going on our essays if we ever hope to complete them! So, I will not make the mistake of starting class on Thursday with reading. We'll read only if we finish our plans for the essay. Then we'll read. It'll be good.
