Today, everyone was assigned a role, and we started performing Romeo and Juliet in class! Last class we brainstormed and came up with some ground rules for our performances. The rules are seen on the left. We are hoping these guidelines will help us put on the best performances that we possibly can, and allow everyone to feel comfortable and confident as they act.
We also came up with predictions as to what will happen in the play, last class after reading the prologue. We went over these predictions today since we didn't have time to last class. The predictions are written in green and yellow.
After we went through these expectations and predictions again, we began our performance! We set the stage on one half of the classroom and brought out wooden swords. We acted out the first big fight scene between the Capulets and the Montagues and got up to page 35. We will continue our performance next class!
