Today, we had an abbreviated schedule due to a half day. We had a mini lesson on metaphor and simile, and looked for instances of the two as we read. We read up to page 38 of The House on Mango Street, and made some text-to-life connections about the importance of family expressed through Esperanza and Rachel's fight. After this, we spent the last few minutes of class finishing up any writing that was not yet complete from previous classes.-Ms. Audy
