We finished the play!
Yay!
Today we buckled down and read the rest of act four and all of act five. We continued our conversation about Petruchio's methods of 'taming' Katherine. Also, the whole Vincentio/ Merchant mess and Tranio/ Lucentio mix-up was solved when both parties came together and found that false identities had been used to conceal Lucentio's complex plot to win Bianca's heart.
In the end, Katherine gives a rousing monologue that seemed to have left us wondering if she had actually been tamed or if she was just scared of her husband, Petruchio.
We'll discuss this in much more depth next class.
