Double Entry Journal Notes and Day of Tears Reading




The first item of business on today's agenda was to talk about the Double Entry Journal common assessment. First, we talked about the set-up involved in writing a DEJ (See picture). Then, as a class, we defined the terms Author's Point of View and Cultural Context. Our definitions are included as pictures in this post.

Next, we read from Day of Tears to page 122. As we read, we looked for potential quotes that could be used as either APOV or CC quotations.

Finally, we (almost) completed a Reading Guide over the section we finished today.
