Quote of the Week

February is Black History Month. Therefore, our quotations for this month will all come from African Americans who are also born in the month of February. Luckily, we have quite a few to choose from. This week's selection is from Toni Morrison.

Morrison is one of my all-time favorite writers. I've read most of her books and have copies of them if any of you would like to try one out. Her books are not easy to read, but they are (in my opinion) worth the time and effort. Her writing has a beauty, passion, and intelligence that comes through in her narration and in her characters. She was born in 1938 and has seen and lived through the Civil Rights Movement. She is inspirational in her thoughts and words.

Without further ado, here's our first quotation for the month of February:

"As you enter positions of trust and power, dream a little before you think."
