For our first opinion piece, we discussed whether or not professional and/ or nonprofessional athletic teams should be forced to retire their potentially offensive Native American mascots and logos.
Our conversation around this topic was quite good for a first discussion. Most of you participated in the discussion and added in insightful comments and observations. Feelings about this topic ranged and there was little agreement about what should be done concerning this controversial issue.
Next week, I'll return your opinion pieces with suggestions and comments. We'll talk about what we're doing well in them and what we need to work on to improve for next time. I hope to have more passion-filled discussions with you all in the future!
