End of Speak

After spending some time with Melinda Sordino and getting to know her story quite well, some of you cheered and some of you jeered the ending of Laurie Halse Anderson's Speak. It was a little like a scene from Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Some thought the ending was too rushed, some thought it should have stopped with the attack on Andy Evans, and a few of you thought it was just right.

Well, no matter how you feel about the end of this novel, we are at the end of this novel. Now, we need to focus on our third letter, which is a thank-you letter to Kristen Plummer, who came in and spoke with us about sexual assault. After we have sent those letters off to Ms. Plummer, we'll tackle the process of writing our collaborative poem.

Also, please be advised that quarter one ends November 6th. Please see me if you're planning to stay after sometime before the 6th to make-up work.
