Starting today, we have a new addition to our classroom. Her name is Ms. Petroska and she will be a Practicum Teacher with us for the next couple of months. Welcome Ms. Petroska!
Despite today's excitement in having a new teacher, we managed to have some regularity. We SSR-ed for about fifteen minutes and then headed right for Speak. We read to page 123 and remarked a lot on the fact that we're about 3/4 of the way through this book and an adult has FINALLY asked Melinda if there's something wrong that she'd like to talk about. This adult, of course, is Mr. Freeman, the coolest teacher in the book. Hopefully, Melinda will stop stopping herself from opening up and talk to Mr. Freeman about what happened. We can only hope and continue to read.
For the last part of class, we created our new set of Words Rock! We now have twenty-five words that we've taken from Speak. We'll write our next letter on Thursday.
