Last week, I was reading an online news site and saw something that I thought would stir up a good discussion in our class. Well, it turns out I was right.
Today we talked about an initiative in Australia where ministers of health in that country are trying to pass a ban on elective cosmetic surgery for minors. Elective surgeries include procedures like rhinoplasty, liposuction, and breast augmentation. This issue stirred a great debate among the young men and women in our classroom. Several of you had some persuasive things to say about this issue.
After we discussed and wrote about this issue, we read chapter six in Animal Farm. In this chapter, we start to see the debilitating effects that the building of the windmill is having on the animals building it.
