To break up the reading of the novel, we started watching the film version of the movie in today's class. We only watched about twenty or so minutes, but we noticed that there are a lot of differences between the movie and book versions. You all were assigned a character or characteristic to watch for in this movie. You all took notes about you topic as you were watching the film. We paused several times so that we could discuss some of the differences we saw in the movie.
It will be important to track the differences in the movie because, as I explained in class, we'll be looking to see whether the movie meets the seven characteristics of a dystopia in the way that the book version of this story does.
