Letter to Your Future Self

Last week, we went over the structure and format of a business letter. In today's class, you will all write a friendly letter. As you'll see, the structure of this letter will be quite different from the business letters you finished this week.

Instead of writing to an actual person, you're going to write to your future self. In a way, this is a sort of creative writing because you don't know who you will grow up to be, unless you have a time machine. If so, your letter should be very accurate!

Your letter should contain:

-advice or encouragement to your future self
-address yourself as a twenty five (or so) year-old
-give references to your work and your personal life
-give some sense of where you'll be living
-be positive
-use correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation

Have fun with this assignment. It should be completed this class period and will count toward your quarter three grade. You may email them to me or print them out for grading.
